Description

GYTS53 Buried Optical Cable is a double-sheathed, steel-tape armored outdoor fiber optic cable designed for harsh direct buried underground installations. Featuring a central steel wire strength member, gel-filled loose tubes, longitudinal corrugated steel tape, and dual high-density polyethylene (HDPE) sheaths, GYTS53 provides structural rigidity, rodent protection, and long-term water blocking for long-haul telecom backbones, power utility grids, and municipal infrastructure networks.

Core Engineering Advantages

Underground Mechanical Armor: The combination of corrugated steel tape and double PE sheaths safeguards internal fibers against high soil compression, mechanical impact during backfilling, and severe rodent attacks.

Longitudinal Water Ingress Barrier: Water-blocking gel inside loose tubes combined with full-cable core filling compound prevents lateral water migration along the underground duct or soil trench.

Electromagnetic Compatibility: Designed with stable phosphatized steel central strength members to maintain geometric stability during high-tensile underground pulling operations.

Low Attenuation Performance: Compatible with ITU-T G.652D standard, maintaining minimal transmission loss across 1310nm and 1550nm operating wavelengths over long distances.

Customization Workflow

To ensure precise engineering compliance and seamless project execution, our OEM and project customization follows a structured four-step process:

Technical Requirement Evaluation: Share your project specifications, including fiber count, fiber type, sheath material, and target deployment conditions. Our engineering team reviews the technical parameters within 24 hours.

Specification & Sample Approval: We provide a detailed cable cross-section drawing and technical data sheet (TDS) for client sign-off. Physical cable samples can be dispatched for lab testing and field approval upon request.

Precision Manufacturing & Quality Control: Production begins strictly according to the approved engineering parameters. Every cable lot undergoes mandatory optical, tensile, and crush testing in compliance with IEC standards.

Inspection Report & Global Logistics: Upon completion, full Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) documentation is issued. Cables are packed on fumigated wooden drums with sealed ends, optimized for maritime, rail, or air freight dispatch.

Quality Verification & Testing

Prior to export dispatch, each production reel undergoes mandatory optical, mechanical, and environmental testing:

  • Factory OTDR Attenuation Mapping (100% full-core inspection)
  • Fiber Geometry and Diameter Verification
  • Tensile Load Capability Test (IEC 60794-1-2-E1)
  • Crush Resistance and Impact Test (IEC 60794-1-2-E3/E4)
  • Water Penetration Test (24-hour water column immersion)
  • Thermal Cycling Test (-40°C to +70°C chamber testing)

Packaging & Export Logistics

Export-Grade Drums: Solid wooden reels with flange protection and sealed inner cable ends to block moisture ingress during ocean transit.

Protection Layer: Polyethylene moisture-barrier wrapping with protective wood cladding.

Project Labeling: Dual-side weather-resistant drum labels detailing fiber count, reel length, gross weight, net weight, and batch serial number.

Container Loading: Steel strapping and wood-chock stabilization inside containers for sea, rail, and road freight.

FAQ

Q: Why is GYTS53 specifically recommended for direct burial over standard GYTS cable?

A: GYTS53 incorporates an additional inner PE sheath under its corrugated steel tape and an outer HDPE sheath on top. This double-jacket armor delivers significantly higher crush resistance and rodent protection needed for direct soil trenching without conduit.

Q: What fiber types can be specified for GYTS53 production?

A: We offer standard ITU-T G.652D single-mode, bend-insensitive G.657A1 single-mode, and OM1/OM2/OM3/OM4 multimode fibers based on network architecture requirements.

Q: What are the standard drum continuous lengths available for project shipping?

A: Standard delivery lengths are 2000m, 3000m, or 4000m per wooden drum. Custom reel lengths can be wound to minimize field splicing points for long-distance projects.

Q: What quality control documentation is supplied with every shipped order?

A: Each exported drum includes a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) report, providing 100% full-core OTDR attenuation mapping and mechanical inspection results verified prior to dispatch.

Q: Can the outer jacket be customized for flame-retardant or indoor-outdoor transition zones?

A: Yes. While standard GYTS53 features an HDPE outer jacket for underground durability, an optional Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) outer sheath can be provided for projects requiring flame resistance.

Q: How does the cable design ensure standard color identification during field splicing?

A: Internal fibers and loose tubes follow the standard 12-color coding scheme (Blue, Orange, Green, Brown, Grey, White, Red, Black, Yellow, Violet, Pink, Aqua) for rapid fiber matching during installation.

Q: What key parameters should be provided to receive an accurate project quotation?

A: Please specify your required fiber count, fiber type (e.g., G.652D), total project quantity or reel lengths, outer sheath material (HDPE or LSZH), and destination port.
